A New book is about to launch in sweet St. Vincent. 401 Vincy Caribbean proverbs was written by Vincentian "Teacher Morgan", owner and founder of Morgans’ Institute for Learning and Development (MILAD). Morgans’ Institute for Learning and Development (MILAD)was founded on 1st August 1992 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines by a young and proactive Vincentian bred school teacher known as Nigel Anthony Morgan. It was conceived out of the need at that time to give academic support to elementary school age students in the rural village who needed to pass the entrance examination to be admitted in Secondary school. The first class started with one school girl from a poor family. She excelled beyond everyone’s expectation in the entrance examination and was accepted in one of the top secondary schools in the country. This successful story quickly spread throughout the rural area. The next semester parents and teachers from other rural communities were seeking the private academic services of teacher Morgan to get their child into secondary school. Since then, the records reveal that each year, the percentage passes of his class was always 100%, with his students entering top schools. He soon became known as Teacher Nigel Morgan and his outstanding academic contributions prevailed throughout the island among all the schools. In time, parents and teachers also sought remedial reading classes for their children. He never turned any one down. His fees were minimal just to help people reach their destiny in life. Undoubtedly, throughout the years, countless students have passed through his hands successfully and are making their worthwhile contribution to society today. Since 2004 - the era of the National Education Revolution in St. Vincent and the Grenadines many adults have sought him privately for remedial reading classes and succeeded in mastery of the basic reading skills always. A low to mid-level trough feature, under favourable upper-level enhancement, has been generating cloudy to overcast skies, pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines during the overnight hours. Some stations across St. Vincent have already recorded as much as four inches (100mm) of rainfall during the last 9 hours and there is the possibility of further rainfall accumulations of at least 50 to 75 mm {2 to 3 inches} over the next 12 hours as the activity persists. Thus, a Flood –Warning has been issued. This Warning will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m today, Sunday. Residents in flood prone areas and areas prone to land slippage should take all necessary precautions and remain on the alert. A Flood-Warning means that flooding is imminent or is already occurring. The Barbados Meteorological Services and the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services will continue to monitor and this warning may be extended if necessary. TO WARD OFF nutrient deficiencies, maintain high energy, and keep your overall health optimal, do yourself a favor: Eat meat. This is according to mensfitness.com. We're not hitting vegetarians by sharing this information, but rather... helping meat lovers. Most if not all 20 Meat types can be found at Choice Meats St. Vincent. ( Yeah. Dropped a plug) Meat from fish, chicken, beef, and wild game offers its own specific array of vitamins, nutrients, and protein profile. A workout warrior looking to build muscle should keep these top protein sources stocked, or at least on rotation throughout the year. Oh, I almost forgot, this information was taken almost completely from mensfitness.com. Only we dropped in a few comments... Here's a list of 20 top foods for carnivores looking to improve their physiques and stay in great shape. #1. Chicken Breast Chicken breasts are the classic lean muscle-building protein. Don’t get stuck in the monotony of eating them bland and baked day in and day out, though. You can shred cooked chicken breast with two forks and toss it in a vinegar-based/East Carolina style BBQ sauce for a brand new flavor without a ton of extra calories. Another option is tossing a couple chicken breasts in a Ziploc bag with balsamic vinegar and fresh rosemary the night before you are going to cook it for an easy (and essentially calorie-free) marinade. Protein (4 oz.): 27g #2. Fish Fish are consumed as food by many species, including humans. It has been an important source of protein and other nutrients for humans throughout recorded history. In culinary and fishery contexts, the term fish can also include shellfish, such as molluscs, crustaceans and echinoderms. A 3-ounce serving of six types of fish -- cod, haddock, tuna, flounder, perch and halibut -- has 90 to 130 calories and 19 to 26 grams of protein. On average, that means you'll get 22 grams of protein, which is 39 percent of men's and 48 percent of women's recommended daily intake. It's also about equal to the protein you'll get from meat with significantly fewer calories. The same portion of beef and pork contains 151 to 235 calories and 18 to 27 grams of protein. Protein: 22 g |
